Goldfinch Serenade

There are mixed blessings with the crazy economy we're grappling with.  Some I already made use of, such as consolidating trips to town.  When you move to the country, you don't dash into town a couple of times a day like we did in the suburbs.

Now I may go into Floyd once or twice a week, depending on my kids' work and music lesson schedules. That means more time at home to sit by my office window and enjoy the birds who come to feed.  I filled up the feeder with sunflower seeds just a day or so ago, and already it's empty.  But the best part is that the goldfinches have discovered it was refilled!

Now several times a day there are clusters of bright yellow birds that make the most charming chirps and squawks you have ever heard, perched on my feeder and getting their fill.
